Did Sun sleep in and snooze today?

A slight delay in glowing views.

In shade we wait for Sun’s parade

aligned with Sky to change the hues.

Was it Moon that caused the waves

To be so brave and climb the land?

Knowing some might not return

absorbed ashore by porous sand?

Are the waves that chose to play

enjoying spraying crests of white?

Rolling, gaining height in rhythm

with birds in turn along in flight?

Do Fish find it fun to tumble

over, under, tossed around?

A salty constant roller coaster

where lurking Pelicans abound?

The sound intensifies each cycle.

Our comments stifled with each crash.

We wait, anticipate the ending

close to our toes, but gone too fast.

Then suddenly the sound subsided.

God decided. Turned it low.

No more crashing, “Do you see me?

I am God.

Be still.

And know.”
